Jayshrie & Leo: Personal Touches & a Celebrant Who Got It

There's something refreshing about working with a couple who know exactly what they want. Not in a controlling way. In a confident, thoughtful way. Jayshrie and Leo walked into their wedding day on 15 June 2024 with a clear vision. A prestigious venue. Incredible styling. Taste. And a commitment to making their day feel entirely, authentically theirs.

The day felt sophisticated and intentional. Like two people who understood that getting married wasn't about following a template. It was about creating something that genuinely reflected who they are together.

Knowing Exactly What You Want

One of the things I love about my job is the variety. No two couples are the same. But there's a particular kind of client that stands out. The ones who arrive with a vision already in place. Who've thought about every detail. Who understand that excellence is in the curation.

Jayshrie and Leo fell into that category. They weren't just getting married. They were throwing a wedding that would be memorable for all the right reasons. The venue they'd chosen is one of my favourites, Baddow Park House, and it was pristine. The styling was top-tier. Every element had been carefully selected to work together.

What struck me was that even though they were deliberate about these details, they weren't precious about it. There was no stressed energy. No "everything must be perfect" anxiety. They were fun to be around, genuinely excited about their day, and open to the people around them. That's what made them brilliant to work with.

When a Celebrant Becomes the Heart of the Day

Most weddings have a registrar or a vicar. The ceremony is important, but it can sometimes feel like a formality. A necessary box to tick before the party really starts.

This wasn't that kind of wedding.

Claire Denis, their celebrant, brought something special to Jayshrie and Leo's day. She didn't just read vows. She wove together stories from their family and friends. She created a ceremony that felt personal in a way that formal registry office readings simply can't match. The vows they exchanged weren't generic. They were theirs. Specific. Meaningful. The kind of words that make you believe these two people actually know each other.

It's one of those things that separates a good wedding from a great wedding. A ceremony that's not just about the legality of getting married, but about celebrating who these people are together. Claire delivered that completely. The genuine emotion. The laughter at the right moments. The recognition from their loved ones that this ceremony, this day, was truly about Jayshrie and Leo.

Making Recommendations, Matching the Vision

Here's where the bespoke part of what I do really comes into play.

Jayshrie and Leo came to me knowing they wanted specific people involved in their day. They'd found Claire. They'd booked their band. We discussed photographers. They had a clear sense of how they wanted everything to look and feel. But they also knew that they needed guidance on how to bring it all together. That's where recommendations come in.

I work with suppliers I trust. People who understand that a wedding isn't about individual elements performing in isolation. It's about how everything works together. When Jayshrie and Leo asked for suggestions, I made recommendations based on who I thought would genuinely enhance their day and match the energy they'd already created. Not just good suppliers, but the right ones for them.

Beyond the planning, I also tailored the film package to how they wanted to tell their story. Some couples want cinematic montages. Some want longer ceremony captures. Some want emphasis on the speeches, the dancing, the celebration. I listened to what Jayshrie and Leo wanted to see and shaped the package around that. Because at the end of the day, the films aren't for me. They're for them. And they should reflect how they want to relive their day.

An Aperol Tower In The Gazebo, & Nice People

Jayshrie and Leo's wedding had moments that made me smile.

An Aperol tower in the gazebo during cocktails is always great to kick off the evening events. Jayshrie' and Leo’s day didn’t just include standard wedding elements, but they weren't gimmicky either. They felt authentic to who Jayshrie and Leo are. They felt like the people throwing the party were genuinely having fun and wanted their guests to feel that too.

And honestly, that energy is contagious when you're filming. When you're in the presence of a couple who are nice people, who aren't stressed, who are enjoying their own wedding. When their family and friends are doing the same. That's what shows up in the final film. It's not something you can fake or force. You either capture it or you don't.

When They Watched the Films

There's always a moment when a couple sits down to watch their wedding films for the first time. Some are quiet. Some cry. Some laugh. I've experienced the full range.

Jayshrie and Leo's reaction was immediate and clear. In their own words, they absolutely, completely, genuinely "LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!"

That's the reaction I work for. Not polite appreciation. Not "oh, that's lovely." Actual love for what's been created. It tells me that I've captured not just the events of their day, but the feeling of it. The joy. The sophistication. The personal touches that made it theirs.

If This Sounds Like Your Wedding

Jayshrie and Leo showed me something important. That young couples can have weddings with class. That knowing what you want isn't a limitation. It's a strength. That a ceremony can be genuinely moving when it's personal. And that the best weddings come from people who are nice to work with and genuinely excited about celebrating together.

If that resonates with you. If you're the kind of couple who has a vision for your day and wants someone who can help bring it to life without getting in the way. Someone who makes recommendations based on what suits you, not what suits them. Someone who'll tailor the films to tell your story your way.

Let's chat. I'd love to film your wedding.
